How many stamps do you need to use to send a letter from england to america?

i'm just curious because i sent a letter a few weeks ago and then i remembered that i sent a large envelope and i put 2 1st class stamps on it. is that ok?

It would depend on how much the letter weighed.

Cheryl it is likely that was not enough.  Next time go to the Post Office and get it weighed and size checked and ask for an Air Mail sticker.
