Fractions of an ounce, above 1, can be posted in odd cents if you have a postal scale.

Postage rates are based on weight and class of delivery, not distance.  Your 41¢ first class stamp will get you as far as you want, as long as the letter weighs less than 1 ounce.

Each additional ounce costs 17¢ more, up to 92¢ for a 3.5 ounce letter.
