How many stamps does it take to mail from these areas?

i'm mailing from florida to japan. its a cash payment for something i ordered.

can i just send it through regular mail? or do i have to go to the post office and send it there?

are stamps required? would i have to pay anyhting more?

  1. If it's just a piece of paper in a letter sized envelope it will cost you 94 cents to mail it to Japan.  You do not need a customs form and you can just toss it into the mail box with the appropriate amount of postage on it.

    If it is more than just a letter or it will weigh in at over an ounce, go to www.usps.com and click on the link at the top "calculate postage".  Pick "International Postage" and make sure to put in Japan.  It will let you know how much postage to put on it and if you need a customs form or not.

    Make sure to NOT mail cash.  You can buy an international money order at the post office for less than $1.  It's a lot safer.  Also, some countries ban cash from coming into the country.  I don't know if Japan is one of them but you'd hate it if your cash was seized in customs and you lost both the merchandise and your payment.
