How many stamps to put on a parcel?

i'm sending a parcel within australia(not international)

Ive weighed it online and says i need $4.00 worth of stamps. But do i buy a 4.00 stamp or can i put eight 50c stamps.

and do 4.00 stamps even exsist?

you can put 8 50c stamps on it or you can go to your post office and buy a 4.00 stamp at least in the U.S. you can. You should go to your local post office and ask them. They will most likely tell you yes
