I want to send a box of chocolates to family in Ohio from Topeka, Kansas. How many stamps would I need?

This will tell you how much it costs.

First thing to do is get two USPS Flat Rate Priority boxes from your local Post Office.  Get one of each size ... the boxes are free.  If your chocolates fit in one of them it will save you lots of money to mail it that way.  It's $8.95 to anywhere in the US (including Alaska & Hawaii) no matter how much it weighs, as long as it fits.

If it doesn't fit in one of them, then just package it up and take it to the PO ... you won't be able to drop it in a mailbox anyway.  Any package over 13oz must be taken to the Post Office and you have to drop it off in person.
