Karmichael hunt at five eighth? no scott prince? you selectors should hide you heads in shame. you have a legend like mal coaching and the fools give him a team without a proper no 6. the best backline on the paddock and no one the feed the ball out to them. karmichael hunt deserved to be there but play him in a position he is familiar with. when i read the team line up and positions i honestly thought that the head selector must have been phil gould, gomer pile, forrest gump or someone else who had no idea about rugby league. when a smart league brain like bennett says you are doing the wrong thing maybe a smart thing is to maybe listen to him. im not his biggest fan but i certainly know that he has a brilliant footy brain which should be used. NSW deserved to win game 1 without a doubt but you selectors need a good kick in the backsides and all i can say is scott prince is a cert for origin 2 and well done mate you are a champion. ps billie watch out for those sidelines hey mate

  1. drop pj marsh bring in prince, put hunt or slater back to the bench. defence wise hunt had a good game but not in attack he maybe should've swaped with inglis. steve price will be back also so maybe lillyman might get dropped as well. need someone like him to put pressure on kicker.

  2. I would swap Inglis and Hunt.  I would also drop Thurston for Prince.   I think Thurston is one of the most over-rated players in the game...

  3. Scott prince at halfback.

    Thurston at five eigth

Cronk on the bench instead of Marsh (Cronk was originaly a hooker but can fill in to the halves

    Carroll for Lillyman

If Price is back, Webb should go to the bench getting rid of Lillyman.

Possibility of Slater going to wing in place of tate and hunt going to fullback

  4. This would be my team for game 2. Qld either need to pick Scott Prince or Cooper Cronk at half back and switch Thurston to 5/8. I would drop Tate and move Inglis to Left wing and Karmichael Hunt left centre. I think Hunt would be good at centre because he showed he can defend well at 5/8. Steve Price has to be picked if he's fit cause he brings so much experience to the team. Israel Folau should definately be moved to right wing cause that's the side he plays every game for the storm.

    1 Billy Slater

    2 Greg Inglis

    3 Karmichael Hunt

    4 Justin Hodges

    5 Israel Folau

    6 Jonathan Thurston

7 Cooper Cronk / Scott Prince

    8 Steve Price

    9 Cameron Smith

    10 Petero Civonaceiva

    11 Michael Crocker

    12 Carl Webb

    13 Dallas Johnson

    14 Scott Prince/ Cooper Cronk

15 Nate Myles / Jacob Lillyman

    16 Sam Thaiday

17 Ben Hannant / Neville Costigan (if he's fit)

  5. queensland need better forwards the NSW forwards completely dominated them

  6. The paper said today "Queensland will be forced to pick Scott Prince". Why they didn't pick him in the first place is beyond me - they should not have been "forced" to pick him, they should have picked him because he simply is the number one half back at the moment.

They say to win a premiership you need a good halfback, 5/8, fullback and hooker - with the first pick being the halfback. Then pick the best half back available.

  7. I still think this bunch will come good in Origin 2.  Let's face it, QLD with their back to the wall, in Brisbane...look for some magic.

QLD need a decent 5/8th though.  At the risk of sounding like a geezer, someone like a Jason Smith who could hold the ball, and get the defence to commit and then find space.

  8. yeah very dumb... it made the first game for the Blues a cake walk. Harmichael k**t isnt Scott Princes ballboy. Not that Qld would have won in Sydney anyway... whats their problem with ANZ/ Telstra Stadium? Thats a big hoodoo eh

  9. Yeh all the selectors are up themselves and they all should take the blame for Queensland's loss to NSW...purely because the team they selected was not the best Queensland team available...If they wanna retain the shield for a 3rd time running than they have to pick Scott Prince, than atleast his spontaneous attacking play may get NSW confused and his style of play may bring the dream backline into play

  10. Game 2 will be a bit different. QLD were only allowed to play as good as NSW let them. I think a lot of credit needs to be paid to the NSW side for shutting down the QLDer's every time they had the ball. It will be a vastly different performance in game 2 from QLD because they will show up a little better prepared.

I'm a NSW supporter and I'm still not confident we will get the series win, it is a 3 game series. QLD has to much talent to keep them down for 3 games, sooner or later they are going to fire, lets just hope its in game 3 after NSW has wrapped the series up with a win at Suncorp in game 2.

    Go the Blues

  11. Why isn't Rogers in contention? He's got experience in both codes, has played for Australia in each of them. He obviously is a great player and yet I've heard no mention of his selection chances ((Even if he was suspended). He can play anywhere in the backline (Except Halfback). And Greg Inglis not at 5/8? He plays there every game for the Storm? Brent Tate wing? He plays centre every game for the Warriors? Folau at wing? He plays centre every game for the Storm? And finally, Hunt at 5/8. He's a fullback but wing is similiar. Or centres even.

  12. yea NSW were good and peter wallace lead the way!!

QLD need to make some serious changes, i have always said it and will say it again take out Tate!! Falou and Inglis should be on opposite sides hunt at fullback (as good of a player slater is, there is no room for him) prince at 5/8th or maybe lockyer, but i think prince is better, lockyer has been playin ****. oh have any other winger besides tate! he may be fast but he cant jump, takle, or hit gaps!! also i dont think he is fast

oh i think tate was the cause of almsot every try?? including his own haha could have scored that second try but he didnt put his body on the line (metophoriclaly speaking) he shoulda made the ball go over the try line first priority then worry about gettting hurt!! wat a girl and he made so many desperate pathetic attempts!!

Sailor replaces TATE all the way!!! domination then

  13. Changes i would make seeing Tate shouldn't be there and they need Hunt in the team, move Slater to Wing, Hunt to Fullback, Prince to Five Eighth. I heard the Steve Price is coming back before game 2, so drop Lilliyman (IDK how he was there in the first place), and put price in the team.

  14. OK .

    Hunt ...fullback

    Inglis...5/8...Lockyer

    Tate...Centre

    Folau..Right Wing

    Wendel Sailor...Left wing

And  Defiantly Scott Prince on the bench. If Lockyer is Half fit.

Remember Wendel Sailor has played for Australia in both codes of rugby.

You ask about the Drug incident?

Andrew Johns got away with it and made the ALL TIME GREATS.

  15. I reckon it was dreadful how karmicheal hunt played at 5/8 he should have been somewhere else (i go for NSW) but this is how I would have put it i leave the side people but i change positions

                               Queensland

    1.Billy Slater

    2.Brent Tate

    3.Israel Folau

    4.Justin Hodges

    5.Karmicheal Hunt

    6.Greg Inglis

    7.Jonathon Thurston

    8.Carl Webb

    9.Cameron Smith

    10.Petero Civoniceva

    11.Micheal Crocker

    12.Sam Thaiday

    13.Dallas Johnson

    INTERCHANGE:

    14.PJ Marsh

    15.Ben Hannant

    16.Nate Myles

    17.Jacob Lillyman

  16. Hunt proved himself defensively, but the forwards were dreadful and made all the backs looked dreadful.

    My team would be:

    1. Slater

    2. Folau

    3. Hodges

    4. Inglis

    5. Tate

    6. Prince(Lockyer has barely played, don't care if he's captain)

    7. Thurston

    8. Price(we need him, don't care if he's under done, he's the best prop)

    9. Smith

    10. Civoniceva

    11. Thaiday

    12. Johnson

    13. Hunt

    14. Crocker

    15. Webb

    16. Myles

    17. Lilyman

Slater to do kick returns and follow-up the forwards looking for offloads, but Hunt to chime in the backlines(we missed the playing making fullback, I can remember when we were 10m out and Tate unmarked, Hunt passed to Slater, all he had to was give it to Tate and passed 3m in front of him).

That gives the best balance I feel, Hunt showed he can tackle, chopped Mason in half and smashed Hoffman numberless times, so it gives us an extra back who can still initmate, and if he gets too tired a forward can come on. It gives us 4 spare forwards so th work load can be shared and if a back gets injuried, Hunt or Inglis can fill in easily.

And BTW for everyone asking why Folau was on the left, it was cause Mal was using combo's, Inglis and Folau are teammates and spent most of their career's playing with each other and Hodges and Tate were teammates for like 4 seasons. And my count Hodges is more vital than Folau, Folau only got his test debut cause Hodges was injuried.

  17. lol. ok...

Isn't it funny how Qld think they lost because they made a mistake with selections and not because NSW was the team that really showed up on the night? I think it's fair to say that Qld put together a team that was just as good...but they were outclassed on the night. Hunt played as well as he was allowed to; as was pointed out, he's usually a fullback and was involved in some pretty heavy defence out there (hats off to Craig Bellamy, what an awesome game plan). I'm interested to see what Qld does in terms of Prince...dropping Thurston isn't really an option and assuming Lockyer isn't fit for Game 2, Prince might fit in at 5/8 (except that that would mean Hunt would have to drop back and push someone else out...they won't like that). If Lockyer is fit...then that's a whole different scenario...

  18. my question is where is steve bell fom manly fit in the second game.he did a wonderful job last year series.because they selected israel for the first time and left out bell .who had a wonderful series for the maroons last year.steve bell should in the 17.i doubt it that lockyer will be ready for the second game.prince should be no.7 and put jt on no.6 because he once was a second reciever for the bulldogs.hunt on the fullback.slater on wing.but don,t forget bell should in the 17 men squad for the maroons.

  19. i have a feeling lockyer will come back, they looked so unorganized out there so bunched up and WAY too flat, they needed a leader

  20. They could improve by..

    1. Move Hunt back to Full back

    2. Move Inglis to 5/8

    3. Move Folau to Centre

    4. Move Slater to Wing

    5. Boot Thurston

    6. Put Prince in to Half Back

    could work...

  21. Hopefully Steve Price comes back so we can drop Lillyman.

Thurston was the most useless person on the entire field and should be dropped for Scott Prince.

Slater through about 10000000 balls into touch and should be dropped and move hunt to fullback and bring locky back hopefully.

I actually thought Tate played pretty well but he should swap sides with Folau because folau has played his entire career on the right side of the field but for some reason he was moved to the left.

Someone needs to replace the useless Nate Myles.

PJ Marsh should be dropped for probaly Cooper Cronk and i have no idea why Cam Smith was moved out of Hooker when PJ came on.

  22. i reckon we just need a gud 5/8 scotty prince. by the looks lockyer wont be fit for the 2nd orign but 3rd hopefully. the backs just need more ball and switch falou to the other wing. hes the best on the right. drop lillyman and bring steve price. petro cant do all the work himself. we need a man like steve price. billy slater should be kept as full back. hunt yes but billy deserves to be fullback. hes been on form.
