You can't climb to the top of the Eiffel Tower. You can take stairways up to the second platform, if you wish, but if you want to go all the way to the top, you have to take an elevator.  There is a stairway to the top, but it's only for emergencies.

Anyway, there are 1710 steps from the ground to the summit of the Eiffel Tower.

i climbed it, but i forgot. Around 1000 i think. Do it just for tyhe experience it doesn't take too long

The previous post is correct.  You can only the the stairs to the second level.  If you're interested in a leisurely view from the stairs, I'd take the elevator up and then take the stairs down.  There are very interesting historical facts posted in the stairs - like that there was once an elephant that went up the stairs to the first level!

There are 1665 steps in total.

Entrance costs (with elevator)

4,80 euros to 1st level

7,80 euros to the 2nd level

12 euros to the top

stairs only is 4 euros (but can't go to the top without the 12 euro ticket)
