  1. 5280 feet per mile on average 3 feet per stride(while running) so somewhere around 1750

  2. 2250 but how does that have to do w. swimming?

  3. It really just depends on stride, if you have larger ones in the 2,000's smaller ones probably  around 2,500

  4. Sorry if I'm insulting your intelligence in the parenthesis below... I tend to over explain... but I wanted you to be sure and clear.

I'm 5'10" and have a SLOW WALKING stride of 1'9" (1.75) which means I take approximately 3017 steps in a mile.  My son, who is 4, and about 3'1" takes a step of about 8" (.667) which means he takes about 7,916 steps in a mile.  Now if we're RUNNING my stride is about 2'11" (2.91) which is 1,814 steps... and I'm not going to even try to get a 4 year old to try to run normally...

Take a measuring tape and measure from toe to toe (heel to heel if you want... just NOT toe to heel) of a normal step.  Then convert the inches to decimals (x / 12).  Then divide the number (don't forget to add the whole number back) by 5280.  You should get an answer between about 1750 and 7916 (if you're really short or possibly very old... ).

  5. 2000-2250

  6. 2500 steps
