Apollo 13 was the mission that failed because of an explosion and there was no landing claimed.

Apollo 11 was the first to land on the moon. I know it took off because I was in Florida and watched the launch.

The fact that proves it was not a fraud is that the whole mission, including radio transmission source and lag, was closely scrutinized by the Soviet Union (the enemy at that time) and if there had been the slightest suggestion of fraud, the Soviets would have been announcing the fraud to the world.

Apollo 13 never landed on the moon. That was the one that had to abort the landing. All the other missions that did make it, did land on the moon. The Myth Busters are doing that myth right now. I don't know why people still think they filmed it Hollywood. The question that you should ask is, why we have never gone back.
