How many subs can I power?

Question

Off of one amp? Have two subs on already. 1000w Kenwood amp with two Alpine subs. I want to add one more (if possible), A memphis audio one. I want it to hit.

i know you can add 4 to one amp. you can probably try more but the ohm load to an amp changes and theres alot of wiring to be done. what kind of subs are you using or going to use? 2 ohm, 4 ohm, single voice coil, dual voice coil???

it also depends on the power of your subs, 1000watts isnt alot split between 3 subs, you should be able to wire them up but its best NOT to mix subs with different power. if they have about the same RMS you should be alright.

i would get a second amp for the memphis audio if you want it to really pound.
