  1. There's only one Sun, but there are countless Sun-like stars out there. Have a look at the SolStation website, it lists all of the Sun-like stars out to a distance of 65 light years and beyond.

  2. Only God knows that.

  3. Countless. Our sun is used as the average size by scientists to compare other stars (sun is a star) to ours in relative size (makes life easier because we know exactly how large our sun is), but no one actually knows if our sun really IS the average size.

  4. How many stars!

    Over 10^22.

  5.   Trillions.

  6. Billions. Our sun is just an average star. And there's billions of them out there. Probably more.

  7. "Sun" or "Sol" is the name of our star.

You might want to rephrase your question into: How many stars are there in the entire universe? because Sun is just one of them.

Answering that question, there are infinitely many stars out there in the space, and there those bigger, brighter, hotter, smaller, dimmer and colder than our sun.

  8. Well, in our galaxy alone, it's estimated to be more than 200 *billion*.  And, there are likely more galaxies in the universe than there are stars in our Milkyway.

  9. one

  10. 'sun' isn't a name for our star (it's name is sol) sun refers to a star at the center of a solar system.

and we can't really be sure... if you just mean stars in general... well there are something like 125 billion known galaxies, and on average they have 200 million stars...

so 5,000,000,000,000,000,000 or so... that we know of anyways....

  11. Although it is unknown, there is an approximate guess. If there are approximately 1 billion galaxies, and there approximately 500 million stars in each galaxy, there are approximately 500 zillion a.k.a 500,000,000,000,000,000 stars

  12. Only one :)

But, there are untold billions of stars in the universe. If we are to believe that there is one star per solar system (in reality, there can be two or even three), and let's say that there are only 50 solar systems per galaxy (a very very low number compared to the reality), and we'll pretend that there are only 4 million galxies (the number that NASA has catalogued), then you're already got 200 million stars. When you take into account that i rounded all the numbers down and that the # of galaxies we have catalouged is barely a fraction of all that is out there, not to mention the universe is infinite as far as we know, then you have an astounding number of stars, an incomprehensible amount. We'll likely never know how many stars there are but i am certain that as long as we keep searching, the number will continue to rise indefinitely.

  13. like counting sand on a beach

  14. ALOT! The sun is a star. There is probably a star WAY bigger than our sun. But yea there are more than one "suns" which are really stars.
