  1. There are days when I'll wait about 10 table a shift. There are others when it's 40-50.

  2. Well, I know Olive Garden is owned by Darden and they are only allowed 3 table sections. A lot of the big chains have 3 table sections. Darden also owns Red Lobster, Smokey Bones, Longhorn steakhouse, Bahama Breeze)

So if you figure a waitress has a full section and works 6 hrs they will have about 18 tickets per shift.

  3. I'm a server for an Olive Garden right now and depending on how busy we are and what section I'm in it varies from 20 to about 45. The most tables I've had in one day was 64 when I worked a double on mothers day.

  4. waaaay to many

  5. A waiter would be waiting on roughly 3-4 tables at a time, each table usually stays roughly an hour, if you assume the waiter is working an 8 hour shift, he/she would have waited 24-32 tables.

  6. Depending on how many hours they work I would estimate they wait on like 4 or 5 tables an hour.

  7. First off, Famous Dave's is not like the Olive Garden. At Famous Dave's the sections were usually anywhere from 4-6 table sections depending on if it was a weekday or weekend. Olive Garden you get like 2-3 table sections and they take a lot longer to turn.

You can turn tables at Dave's like no other because usually the food comes out so quick. All of the sides are pre-made at the beginning of the day and all the meat has been smoking for hours already. People that order ribs all the cooks have to do is cut the slab and throw it over the flame and baste with BBQ sauce. Someone throws all the dishes together with the sides and the dinners are coming out so fast there.

At the Olive Garden people are more apt to take their time but the checks averages are higher and you can make much more money if you have the experience. Working at Famous Dave's is cake.

It's really hard to get an average number of tables a day bc EVERY DAY IS DIFFERENT. You almost never know when it will be busy. Dave's is usually pretty slow during the summer because people can do their own BBQ at home with family and friends. We would pick up big time during the winter. Plus you never know how long it will take a table to eat or how long they will stay afterwards. You could have anywhere from 5-30 tables a night all depending on the day of the week, the season, the customers, and how fast you can turn a table.
