  1. What are you doing wasting precious time typing here... call emergency services!  And keep her AWAKE!

  2. It really depends on what he or she took and how many? If you are not sure and are worried... CALL 911! I am an ER nurse and deal with overdoses all the time- many of them are harmless, but others can cause serious harm! If you are uncomfortable with calling 911 (which you shouldn't be) you can contact poison control and they can help you. If your friend is awake, breathing ok, and not sluggish... I would talk to them about getting help. If this was an attempt at suicide... they definitely need to speak with a psychologist. \

    Bottom line is this....

    1. Call 911

    2. Call poison control

    3. talk to your friend about getting help if this was a suicide attempt.

    Best of luck....

    Aunie

  3. definately call 911, she is very young and it doesnt take much.  try and keep her awake and talking while you wait

  4. Whatever the bottle says you should take then take more than the necessary amount then that is over dose.

  5. Body mass, amount, mixture, time, physical condition all figure in.  It's usually a good idea to dilute and induce vomiting, even as the paramedics are on the way. A single tablet of some things can be an overdose, while others can be taken by the bottle with little effect.  Some drugs potentiate others, while others counteract each other.  It's a good idea to have all prescription bottles on hand for the ER, and an approximate idea of how many was in each and whether any alcohol or other things were consumed.  Often such a stunt is a cry for help, but all too often such suicides are serious and effective.  Get help quick!

[Twelve stone translates to better than 80 Kilos, a pretty hefty woman.  Has she done this before?  Is there evidence of how many were taken? Has vomiting been induced?  Jello water is good for dilution.]

[45 of anything classed as a "painkiller" is definitely an overdose.  Some more serious than others.  Barbiturates or opiates could kill, ASA result in damage to stomache, Ibuprophen or Tylenol to kidney damage.  While not definitely fatal, none of these are very good for one's health.]

[Let me put it this way, and see if it makes sense to you and your friend.  An overdose of a drug is any amount that can do harm, not necessarily only an amount that can kill someone.  People vary in their tolerance to different substances, what kills one, might only impair another.  That being said, I'd hate to be the one left waiting around for a liver or kidney transplant because of some drug I took.]

[If an overdose is suspected, it is never a good idea to question or wait and see.  Such things are nice after thoughts, which hopefully don't occur at the person's funeral.  Have poison control and emergency numbers on hand, and USE them.]

  6. Depends on the tablets, your friend's body mass, and his/her constitution and metabolism.

Get advice from a physician or paramedics. To prevent damage, maybe the stomach has to be pumped.

  7. Only the ONE. Just depends on medicine to know which one. Let her suffer for a while and she might not be so b@@@@y stupid again. dHeads like her cost lots of money to treat.

  8. it depends on what kind of tablets and you should call the poison control center or 911 immediately...
