  1. If you freelance, you can be associated by as many agencies as you see fit.

    However, if you sign a contract, you are esclusive talent, and can only work with one agencies.

    However, you can also have a manager, which is different from an agent.

  4. You can be repped by more than 1 just as long as one agency doesn't say you have to be exclusive.

Assuming you mean acting, there are two types of agents; legit and commercial.  Legit agents submit their clients for theater, film, and television; commercial agents (obviously) submit for commercials.  You can sign with one for each.  You can also "free-lance" with multiple agencies, and they will submit you without signing a contract.  However, agencies generally work harder for their signed talent, and free-lancing is more common on the east coast than the west.
