  1. While they don't technically fit the question, I think Bob Feller and Early Winn of the Indians deserve a mention.

Winn had 300 wins, but Feller 'only' had 266 wins in his career but he gave up four years in his prime to serve his country in World War II (he was winning about 25 games a year at that time). Feller was not drafted - he enlisted in the Navy on the day after the attack on Pearl Harbor - the first major leaguer to do so. Feller earned five campaign ribbons and eight battle stars during the war. It does not get any more honorable than that, and although he fails to make this list, he deserves our acknowledgment and thanks.

  2. A rare excellent question.

Ryan and Seaver on the Mets in the late 60s.

Maddux and Glavine on the Braves in the 90s.

There has never been a team with two "current" 300 game winners.

  3. Tom Seaver and Nolan Ryan were teammates on the New York Mets in 1967 and from 1969-71.

  4. Tom Seaver and Nolan Ryan were teammates from 1967-1972 as New York Mets.  Both went on to win 300 games eventually.

Nolan Ryan and Don Sutton were teammates on the Astros in 1981-82 and went on to win 300 on their way to the Hall of Fame.

Cy Young and John Clarkson were teammates with the Cleveland Spiders of the National League from 1892-1894.  They already had 300 wins at the time.

Mickey Welch and Tim Keefe were longtime teammates from 1885-89 and briefly again in 1891, after they both had reached 300 wins.

Believe it or not, Warren Spahn and Phil Neikro were briefly teammates on the 1964 Milwaukee Braves.  Spahn already had won more than 300 games, when Niekro broke into the majors that year.

Warren Spahn and Gaylor Perry were teammates briefly in 1965, at the very end of Spahn's career.  Perry was just 26 years old.

For a very brief time, Steve Carlton and Phil Niekro were teammates on the 1987 Cleveland Indians.  They both had 300 wins by that time.

Gaylord Perry and Phil Niekro were teammates on the 1981 Atlanta Braves. Both had over 250 wins but not yet 300 at the time.

John Clarkson and Charles Radbourn were teammates with the Boston Beaneaters in 1888-89.

While Tom Seaver and Steve Carlton both pitched for the 1986 White Sox, they were never teammates, as Seaver was traded before Carlton signed with them.

  5. Tom Glavine and Greg Maddux were teammates for the longest of time.

They both have 300 wins and our both First ballot hall of famers for sure.

  6. The 1987 Cleveland Indians had two "current" 300 game winners on their staff.  In fact on April 9th the following happened:

Phil Niekro picked up his 312th victory with reliever Steve Carlton (who had 323 wins himself at the time) picking up his second career save.

  7. Teammates after each had reached 300 wins:

Tim Keefe & Mickey Welch, 1891 New York Giants.

Phil Niekro & Steve Carlton, 1987 Cleveland Indians.

Carlton and Tom Seaver were both on the 1986 Chicago White Sox but not simultaneously.

Teammates at any point in their careers:

Keefe & Welch, 1880-82 Troy Trojans, 1885-89 and 1891 New York Giants.

Charles Radbourn & John Clarkson, 1888-89 Boston Beaneaters (Braves).

Clarkson & Kid Nichols, 1890-92 Boston Beaneaters.

Clarkson & Cy Young, 1892-94 Cleveland Spiders.

Warren Spahn & Niekro, 1964 Milwaukee Braves.

Spahn & Gaylord Perry, 1965 San Francisco Giants.

Nolan Ryan & Seaver, 1968-71 New York Mets.

Perry & Niekro, 1981 Cleveland Indians.

Ryan & Don Sutton, 1981-82 Houston Astros.

Seaver & Roger Clemens, 1986 Boston Red Sox.

Greg Maddux & Tom Glavine, 1993-2002 Atlanta Braves.

Pairings that would join the second list if the active pitcher reaches 300 wins:

    Randy Johnson:

none, actually, except for the possibility listed below.

    Mike Mussina:

    w/Clemens, 2001-03 and 2007 New York Yankees.

    Pedro Martinez:

    w/Glavine, 2005-07 New York Mets.

    Johnson & Mussina:

    2005-06 New York Yankees.
