How many tectonic plates are there?

Question

I understand there are both major and minor plates but I'm only interested in the major plates. But, if anyone knows how many minor plates there are that would help to.

Do not believe that under the earth exist tectonic plates, nobody has been down that deep to see if this theory is real ,it is only the figment of the imagination of the person who came with the idea

African, Antarctic, Australian, Eurasian, North American, South American and Pacific Plate

Many smaller plates of which the most important include: Indian, Arabian, Caribbean, Juan de Fuca, Cocos, Nazca, Philippine and Scotia
