lita held the women's championship a total of four times. the first time she held it she defeated stephanie mcmahon (Helmsley) on the 21st august 2000. After 2 failed attempts due to outside interference by tori and kurt angle the wwf champion at the time the rock took on the role of special guest referee. this insured a fair chance for lita and after triple h interfered by taking down lita the hardy boyz came out and attacked him equalling up the fairness due to triple h and kurt angle being in stephanie's corner. lita went for the moonsault a bit further into the match however kurt angle pulled her off the second rope on her way up causing her to fall. kurt angle showed steph the belt to remind her what the match was about causing the rock to pull kurt angle into the ring. after triple h became involved kurt tried to use the belt to take out the rock. however when he ducked kurt hit triple h instead. after a rock bottom to kurt angle steph attempted to hit the rock with the championship belt however rock saw it coming and took her down with a spine buster afterwards telling lita to go up top for the moonsault. with triple h and kurt angle down lita hit the moonsault and rock counted the 1 2 3 causing stephanie to loose the belt and allowing lita to for the first time in her career become the wwf womens champion.

lita won her second championship from trish stratus after jericho being G,M of raw for the night booked a match between them after trish refered to lita as the walking kiss of death. this took place on the 06 december 2004.

her third title rain began after defeating mickie james in her home town on the 14 august 2006. this was due to interference from edge who distracted the referee while lita hit mickie with the title belt.

her forth and final championship rain was again a defeat against mickie james in a fan voted lumberjack match. defeating candice, maria and ultimately mickie lita became womens champion for the forth time winning the vacant championship due to trish stratus' retirement. this took place on the 5 november 2006 with lita later loosing the championship to mickie james in her retirement match less then a month later on the 26 november 2006.
