  1. You should definitely clean it daily to remove f***s and urine. Else it will smell and it wont be a very healthy environment for your rabbit.

  2. Once a week

  3. I think it depends on what you use to catch the urine/p**p.

I use newspaper, and we change my rabbit's cage out every day (or every other day at the most).

  4. 1 or 2 times a week

  5. Daily if you are housing your rabbit outdoors. They are more prone to heat stroke and fly strike if not checked on routinely and cleaned.

  6. i change their litter trays morning and night. i remove any wet bedding and newspaper every morning. i do a full hutch and shed clean once a week (my bunnies have the run of a hutch and shed during the day or run if its sunny)

  7. most likely 2 a week and always refill his food bowl with new fresh food oh and water. =)

  8. That depends on the bedding you use.  Some beddings last longer than others.  For most beddings like straw or wood shavings I'd recommend once a week.  If you use sheet newspaper, once a day might be required.

A good guage is to see if your rabbit is getting stained or messy.  If it is, then you definitely aren't cleaning the cage out enough.

The longest last bedding I've found is ground up corn-cobs.  They are very absorbent.  And can last for week or two if 3-4 inches of them are placed in the pen and then stirred around once every couple of days to air the wet spots out and let them dry.

I tend to prefer wire floored cages the best.  That way the droppings just drop through the floor and it is much easier and less time consuming to keep your rabbit clean.

  9. My rabbits have vinyl tiles in their hutch so I don't need to spend as much time cleaning. For my male I clean out his litter pan every 2 days and sweep his room out every week (he is really clean and lives in our larder). For my female I change her litter pan daily and sweep daily because she is messy!

I'd recommend litter training your rabbit and sticking down vinyl tiles (they are around £3 a pack of 6) so you don't have to clean as much.

  10. At least once a week. If it's a smaller cage at least twice.

  11. Spot clean every day, this is when you scoop out the bedding with wee and poo on. Full clean when all bedding is replaced and the hutch is disinfected and scrubbed once a week. In warm weather I tend to change the bedding twice a week but its not totally necessary. x x x

  12. When it looks dirty.  It would depend on how many rabbits you have, how large the space is, what sort of bedding you use and also how warm it is (theory is, they'd spend more time inside in the winter).

Generally, about once a week.  But if they get smelly before that then you should clean them out.

  13. Well i usually clean my rabbits out twice a week, this will usually help when your cleaning its not that smelly

  14. I would clean out the litter trays, and the litter box every day,

and if you own a hutch I would removed droppings every other day, and then clear out the bedding, and hose it down, once a week.

You should spray disenfetiant in the cage, and the hutch, every 4-6 months, to try to avoid germs, I've heard Lysol works well.

To clean the hutch, you should take soap and water, and scrub it down, then spray it.

As for the cage, I would scrub with soap, and water, hose down, then leave in the sun for a few hours, refill the litter tray, and the litter pan, and replace cage, and bunny! =)

You should clean water dishes every other day at the max.

Water bottles can grow mold on the inside, and it can be hard to clean out. Food dishes should be done, every week, just to avoid, recirculating germs.

Just put some soap and water in the water bottle, and shake it up, then empty and rinse, and leave to dry.

For food dishes, you should make sure they are completely dry before re-filling.

  15. Once a week i empty the hutch of all bedding and hose it down completely to get rid of unwanted smells.

I make sure its completely dry so my Rabbit does not get Snuffles. (similar to a cold)

Then i put in fresh bedding.

However i clean the bed area out every two days as my rabbits tend to poo in there and it becomes smelly and unhabitable.

My Rabbits seem to like this as it keeps them warm and clean.

  16. Vets reccomend you try to brush out all the p**p everyday, but change the actual bedding once a week.

Make sure to give them extra hay on colder nights.

  17. I clean the hutch once a week and give it a disfectant with hutch clean and use a anti bug spray for hutches 1 or 2 times a month.  Sometime i clean the hutch more regularly depend on how much my rabbit has messed it up.

  18. Take out the dirty hay and sawdust everyday, so your rabbit doesnt get covered in it, then once a week clean it all out. If your rabbit does get covered in its poo, make sure you clean it off straight away, because it will get flystrike (where it gets eaten inside by flies)

  19. I change my litter in their boxes every day or every other day at a minimum and do a full clean on my rabbit pens once a week.

  20. You don't want go too overboard with this. I would say atleast once or twice a weak to make sure everything is nice and clean. Also you don't want to be too lazy while cleaning it. If you leave some stuff behind the hutch can start to smell really bad which sometimes can cause the rabbit to have bad hygiene. You shouldn't have to bust your back doing it either. Just think of what your doing to make your rabbit have a better life, and I'm sure you'll get the job done. Good luck to you and your rabbit. Hope this helps!
