How many times am i allowed to take the SAT?

I think it's a bit in between. You don't want to take it too many times, but if you "fail" it, definitely re-take. I think an adequate amount is two, and the second one should be better than the first. If you're just a bad SAT test-taker, I think 3-4 is enough. 5+ is pushing it, honestly. Assuming you take one SAT after another at every available test date, 5+ tests = almost a year in between. If you haven't improved by then, chances are you never will.

One may take the SAT as often as desired, but colleges are informed of multiple re-takes.  This is not something that impresses most colleges.

I don't believe there's a limit as to how many times you are able to take the SAT, it depends on when they are scheduled to be given. Normally students take it about twice, once at the end of the junior year and another time halfway through their senior year.

Don't listen to ozbot. Take it twice at least, and study, study, study. Take it three times if you need to. Colleges will be impressed to see improvement, not be turned off because you've taken it more than once.

i'm going to the 11th too. you can take it as many times as possible. but colleges don't count it any more if you take it 6 times or something like that. so less is better

grade doesn't matter. but 11th would be a good idea. 12th beginning is too late if you want to retake
