12 Laps plus approx. a straight a way and half the curve.  Average varies, depends on who is running it.  Other above that said 15 min. that is less than 5 Min. mile pace .....very few can do it at that pace!

The official race on th track is the 5000 meters.  It starts at the beginning of the 200 meter start point and is 12.5 laps.    Elite runners can run in 13 minutes.  Average is some where around 18 to 24 minutes.
