Question:

How many times can I break in a Brooks leather saddle?

I'm in the market for a Brooks leather bike saddle (probably a B17).

I noticed some used ones being sold on eBay. Already mildly broken in for the most part, with the riders' shape and indents. But otherwise still in great condition.

Would it be possible to break these in again to conform to my shape? Thanks for your help.

  1. I just read their website. It sounds like the leather is to always stay hard and it adapts over time. If the rider changes, the overall surface of the saddle shifts without expanding. So overtime, it will form to you even if it formed to someone else first. However, the saddle may not be comfortable at the beginning.
