Until its considered harassment. They call everyday sometimes more than once. And leave recordings. of an automated machine.

  1. They can call as many times as they want, but it is harassment when they call back to back within 2-5 minutes from their last call.

  2. They can call you all day long, but you can ask them to "cease and desist" all communication. Get names, you can sue them if they call you and they are not supposed to leave messages because of privacy issues. You can learn about this stuff for free at www.creditinfocenter.com. I did and all my creditors stopped calling me. I sent them all letters to cease and desist. And they did. By the way that website is by people like you and me helping each other, thats all.

  3. They can call all day, every day from 8am to 9pm.  Send a letter requesting no calls to all numbers they have on file.  This will stop the calls, but keep in mind, it will not stop them from taking further steps in collecting.  If at all possible, try to make arrangements with the agency on the debt--this will satisfy you both.   ***

  4. Read this article http://www.fair-debt-collection.com/sear...

It summaries what the Federal Trade Commision (they police the collection agency field) says on there website: http://ftc.gov/os/statutes/fdcpa/comment...

You could send them a do not call letter http://www.fair-debt-collection.com/Disp... and by law they must cease.

If they call you at work and you inform them that your employer doesn't allow you to take phone calls at work, then they must stop calling you at work (no need to send a letter to stop calls at work, just need letter to make them stop calling at home).
