How many times can a telemarketer call in a day?

I'm getting a phone call about 8-9 times a day, up until 9 PM every day from HSBC direct. I told them to stop calling after 7, and the lady on the other end said it's within the law to call until 9. Are there any laws I can throw in their face to help them stop calling? I know there are different state laws, so if it helps im currently in Wisconsin, Thanks!

Ask to speak to the supervisor and then ask that your number be removed from their calling list.  Be sure to be polite throughout the process.  The people who are telemarketers usually hate calling you just as much as you hate getting their calls.

You can also add your name and number to the national do not call registry.  Just do a google search for the site.

I would get a cell phone instead, I have never gotten a telemarketer on my cell phone.

home-phone they call 13 times ... but all you do is to hang up.

often you hang-up less then 5 times called you have in a day.

Cellphone they call 8 times but just don't answer it.
