  1. Depends on how big the house is. If its large, you may have to ring a few times before giving up. A smaller house, I would only do it once. To be frank, I dont answer my door. I just dont feel like it.

  2. Two is the limit. If they are home, then they just don't want to answer the door. There is no law, etiquette or otherwise, that says you have to accept any unexpected intrusion onto your quiet and privacy. Ringing the doorbell multiple times does not change that.

  3. 2

  4. I would say no more than 2.

  5. I would say 3.  The second is to make sure some one heard you but the third one is the one I would consider rude.

  6. Well, in my opinion:

I ring once then wait a few mins & ring again. If someone doesn't answer & I know they're there I'll continue to ring periodically. I think it's more rude to have someone (esp. if you're expecting them) to be waiting outside.

  7. I agree no more than 2 one min. apart, then.. I would just walk away if no answer after a while.

  8. I normally ring once every minute, for about ten minutes.

  9. Two rings, two minutes apart.
