I have been using it to deep fry chicken wings. I have been using it for two batches and then changing the oil. Should I have been using it only once or more than twice? Thanks.

  1. 50 times no problem

  2. Unless you have deep fried fish, it is good to re-use several times.  Strain it as someone else suggested, just to get the small already cooked bits out. Cover and refrigerate it between uses, because it can get 'old' and have a rancid taste to it.

  3. Use it several times and filter between batches. To filter oil, let it cool to room temp.  Place a coffee filter into a fine mesh strainer and strain the oil.  When the oil is hot, test it to see if you need new oil.  Place a long spoon into the oil.  If you can't see the spoon through the oil, it is time to change.  If the oil starts to smoke when it is hot, it is time to change it, too.

  4. Betty had good suggestions, but it also depends how long between times! ...  You don't want to keep it more than a couple of weeks either........
