How many times did R2D2 save the good guys in Star Wars?

He's got to be the most unsung hero in science fiction..

fixes the shields on Queen Amidala's ship (whilst his droid buddies get blown away)

zaps the "buzz droid" thereby saving Anakin -- maybe he shouldn't have

distracts Grievous, allowing the jedi to get their lightsabres back

brings Luke and Obi-Wan together

shuts down the garbage compactor

delivers the technical plans to the Rebels

takes a direct hit from Darth Vader (rather than Luke's fighter)

fixes the hyperspace drive whilst the empire is in hot pursuit

throws Luke his lightsabre just when he needs it in ROTJ

Do you think this is a comedy thing having a minor character repeatedly save the good guys without getting any recognition?

Maybe not the popular recognition, but he was awarded multiple medals in the movies, along with Luke, Hans, etc.

R2D2 is probably the true hero of the Star Wars galaxy. I mean of course no one really gives him credit except for whomever he's saving. He is one of the few characters in all 6 films, along with Obi-wan (living or dead), Yoda (living or dead), Anakin (good or evil), and C-P30.
