Twice;1964-1974(after a scandalous two-year affair).After the divorce,they kept in contact with each other,Miss Taylor asking Burton if "we did the right thing" by divorcing.They talked to each other daily.They announced their reunion in August of 1975,with plans of remarriage.But it soon became clear that the reunion would be short-lived.Less than 10 months later,they divorced.Taylor said,"I love Richard Burton with every being of my soul.But we can't be together.We're too mutually self-destructive."Miss Taylor still had hopes of reuniting,though.It wasn't to be.

Twice definitely.  The couldn't live together or without each other.  In fact they were ideally suited except the drink messed it all up, apparently he went in to dark rages when drunk, and she was very demanding, but they were perfect together, but would have ended up dead.  She still loves Burton and never forgot his family nor the children.
