How many times did you ride bareback before you tried to canter?

I think I cantered the first or second time, but it was a really smooth kinda lazy horse.  If you're on something like a thoroughbred hunter with a really forward canter, I'd say once you're really comfortable with cantering without stirrups you should be fine to canter bareback.

its way easier to canter bareback then trot. !

I cantered on my time, but my mare had a nice long main for me to hold and a super smooth gate.

O times . I cantered first before I barebacked. Completely different and I love bareback riding, especially in the oceans or lakes!!
