How many times did you try IUI before moving on to IVF?

How many times did you try IUI before moving on to IVF? How soon was IVF successful?

We tried 3 times before moving on.  We only had a 10% IUI would work and after the 3rd time, we decided to quit.  If we would've had a little better odds, we probably would've kept trying a few more months, but it was $600 a try, so it wasn't worth it.  We moved on to IVF, which didn't work the first time, but I just got my BFP from our 2nd try! I just did my first IUI and according to my doctor 3-5 times is the most that you should really do.  I am in my 2WW right now but I think that I have decided to try two more times if this one is not successful.

on avg. some people try 3 times before moving into IVF, but only your doctor can advice what's best for you, for some couples depending on the diagnoses it's best to move directly into IVF instead of spending money on IUIs first, you can ask a fertility specialist online for free for advice, and find others going through IUI and IVFs as well, try fertilityties.com
