How many times does a semi truck fill up with gas?

I'm doing reserach for a start up. I realize there are a lot of variables but just trying to guage what it costs each month to run an 18 wheeler in terms of fuel costs, how many fill ups during an average month.

semi's use diesel

probably about 5 miles to the gallon

so now that makes it about a dollar a mile for fuel

so how many miles do they roll?

Everytime the gage reads low fuel.

If your running pretty steady say 600-650 miles a day, most of us fill up every 2 to 3 days depending on the size of the tank, mine has 120 gallon tank on each side.  240 gallons total, I fill up every 2 days when I'm on the road. Usually taking about 200 gallons per fill up.  Not much change from $1000.00 every fill.
