  1. this is a difficult surgical matter. you gotta realise that he's gonna be walking on the foot for (hopefuly) 100 years! - so it's gotta be done properly. it's not simple abdominal surgery.

    i would predict (but im not a surgeon) he could require a series of upto 3-5 surgeries depending on the severity of the condition, and how the surgeon thinks the patient will take the treatment (the patients foot, not the patient lol )


  2. I have only heard of this a couple of times (but I am young yet, so that really doesn't mean anything!).

    It is very important that your son have treatment.  Without it he will have a painul and handicapping gait.

    There are a few surgeries, and i am not sure what is the most common, but some include releasing the capsule, lengthening the tendons, and removing the excess or displaced bone.

    It is also very important to realize that your part in his rehabilitation is the most important.  You MUST stretch, splint, night brace, or whatever you are told to do, and you MUST keep attending physical therapy so your son can get back to a normal gait.
