  1. It takes 24hours for the Earth to spin on its own axis.

And takes 365days(1 Year) to revolve around the sun.

    Then if you do 24 x 365 = 8, 760 that's how many hours in takes.

    :D

  2. the earth revolves around its axis.

the earth orbits the sun. one orbit takes 1 year. that is 365.24 days, which means 365 days, and just under 6 hours. these 6 hours are saved up, for an extra day in february each four years.

  3. the earth revolves around the sun once a year

  4. I'll do one better!

rotation period (day): 23 hours, 56 minutes, and 4 seconds

revolution time (year): 365 days, 6 hours, 8 minutes, and 38 seconds

  5. The Earth takes 31,558,149.540 seconds to revolve around the Sun.  That is 365 days, 6 hours, 9 minutes, and 9.540 seconds.  Plus or minus 0.005 seconds for variations from year to year.

  6. JustaFool is quite right but you must add a quarter of a day to the length of a year. The extra quarter day per year is why we have a leap year every 4 years.
