  1. We have been to the moon six times, during three years from 1969 to 1972.  Apollo 11, 12, 14, 15, 16, 17 came to the moon.  Apollo 13 did not go to the moon, but still returned to Earth.

  2. I think georock had a typo...Apollo 13 never landed on the moon; they had an accident.

Assuming that you mean manned missions to the moon, and not unmanned satellites landing/crashing on the moon...Apollo 11, 12, 14, 15, 16, and 17 landed on the moon.  That's six manned missions that landed on the moon.

    EDIT:

    "Personned"!  I love it!

  3. Apollo 8, 10, and 13 orbited the moon.

    Apollo 11, 13, 14, 15, 16, and 17 landed on the moon.

EDIT, yes that was a typo, thanks, Apollo 13 didn't land, it should have been 12! That means there have been six manned (personned in this day and age of political correctness) missions to the moon.

  4. <sounds about right...course, I haven't been yet!   NASA, are you listening?  Oh yeah one correction, Apollo 13 was going to land, but could not due to a little frickin' EXPLOSION on board...so they flipped around the moon and returned, safe and sound except they needed clean shorts.
