  1. Each child is an individual and so it could take any number of times before they will accept new food.

It is pr oven that children who are given the opportunity to explore a wide variety of tastes and textures from a young age are more likely to attempt and accept new tastes and textures when older.

As an Early Years Worker working with babies I often introduce taste trays with carrot sticks, cucumber sicks, celery sticks etc along with a range of dips (the babies in the room will now give anything a go).

    Good Luck

  2. 7-10 times.  I find that just placing a small portion on their plate every time you serve it and being sure the adults are setting a good example :-) often does the trick.  We've had a conversation about how taste buds change over the course of time.  And we ask the question...."Have you tried it today?"  We don't require them to eat all of it...but for our individual family they are required to try a bite of everything without facial expressions or comments :-) if they want another serving of something else or dessert.  You do what works for your family.  Good luck!

  3. IT CAN TAKE UP TO SEVEN TRIES BEFORE A CHILD WILL ACCEPT A NEW TASTE. THIS DOES NOT MEAN SEVEN SPOONS THEN THEY WILL EAT IT!! IT MEANS SEVEN TIMES OVER THE PERIOD OF A FEW WEEKS.

  4. it took my kid 4 times of eating new food before he accepted it
