if a ball is always projected at 45 degrees, is there a number pattern in the amount of times a ball will connect with the sides of a four pocket pool table of various sizes. e.g on a 4 by 15 table the ball will connect 19 times including start and finish times.

  1. never seen a pool table with 4 pockets, they traditionally have six

  2. I think the most times a ball will bank is 9

  3. what

  4. Although Mr.Straight is right if you want a simplified answer then assuming that none of the above mentioned and the ball is at an angle of 45 degrees to the nearest cushion on the white line then the ball will connect only twice and then be potted. This is assuming that the table is a perfect square.

  5. never heard of a four pocket pool table

  6. never heard of a 4 pcket table

  7. First of all, there are tables with four pockets, but they are very rare.  Traditional pool tables have six pockets, are rectangular in shape, and the playing surface is always twice as long as it is wide.  Tables with four pockets are usually square.  They are sometimes found in the Philippines.  Pro player Santos Sambajon learned to play on one of these tables as a small boy.  To answer your question, there is no correct answer.  There are far too many variables to consider.  How hard is the ball being hit?  From what position on the table are you placing the ball?  45 degrees to what?  Are you using standard weight balls?  Are the cushions properly responsive?  Is any particular spin being put on the ball?  How large are the pocket openings?  What is the humidity in the room?  Etc, etc.  M.D.-BCA Instructor/Referee.
