more tournaments must he win this year? The Masters Cup? How many more? I'm not really sure how the points system works.

  1. lets just say it will take him a lot of titles....

and rafa will ahve to hit a lull....

and djokovic will ahve to stop trying....

    BUT HEY, I LOVE ROGER!!

    GO ROGER!

  2. No. Rafa can count on staying number one until the beginning of 2009.

Even if Roger wins USO he gets zero points because he is defending them. He won a masters cup last year so if he wins there, he also gets zero points.

Nadal has 850 points to gain while playing USO and during masters events in fall because he did rather poorly there last year.

So to answer your question, Roger's best chance at regaining the #1 ranking will come in 2009 where he has less points to defend.

  3. its not just about winning titles.  he has to hope that nadal plays poorly and looses early in tournaments, so he looses some points and cant gain as much.  as for federer, he just needs to keep on winning.
