For a school project, we will be wasting, I mean using, 2300 sheets of paper. I want to know how many trees our teacher is telling us to kill.

  1. Don't worry! That's nowhere near the amount of one tree!

  2. A ream of paper is 500 sheets.  Depending on the thickness (weight) of the paper this package of 500 sheets could weigh between 14 and 35 pounds.  The average is 20 pounds.

A good size tree weighs 3,000 pounds.  You can do the math, but 2300 sheets is less than 5 reams, or just under 100 pounds.

  3. Well, according to Howstuffworks.com a pine tree that's 1 foot in diameter and 60 feet tall would produce 80,500 sheets.

  4. 1/2 of a 1/2 of a 1/2 of a 1/2 of a tree!!!

it doesnt take much to make a sheet of paper

  5. Some may used recycled paper, meaning even less of a new tree is actually used.

  6. According to scientists about 30 leafs are used to make a couple sheets of paper. But a whole tree can create over 600 sheets of paper. Please pick me for best answer. I will help you ALL the time.

  7. wow.. thats a lot. I congratulate you this is one of the best questions ive seen in awhile. I'm not too sure (i just did a little bit of research), but Im guessing that 2,300 sheets of paper would be in between 1/4 of a tree and 1/2 of a tree. That is a lot though for one project (or whatever it is that your teacher is making you do).
