Maybe I could find this somewhere but I will probably get a quicker answer here.

How many trees to make a tonne of paper and a tonne of cardboard?

Well, if they are very small trees it could take thousands of them, even millions.

(Just what IS a "tonne" anyway?   Is it some fraction of a ton?)
