How many types of clouds are there?

Based on the heights of the cloud bases ,there are three types.They are given below.

Low clouds(below 2000m):- stratus,stratacumulus,cumulus and cumulonimbus;

Medium clouds(2000 to 6000 m):- Altostratus and altocumulus;

High clouds(above 6000 m):- cirrus ,cirrostratus and cirrocumulus.

Another cloud Nimbus(giving precipitation) is usually associated with other clouds like nimbostratus ,cumulonimbus etc.

Cumulus – heaps

Nimbus – precipitation bearing (raincloud)

Other clouds:

Nacreous cloud (short thin clouds at the sunset and sunrise)
