How many usa cities in all?Please give their names and the states they belong.?

I was told there are 5112 in all,i don't know if it is true or not

Quite possibly more, or around, 42, 624, at least that is what my zipcode database is telling me... so there are 42,624 cities with zip codes, there may be others without zip codes, but probably not many.
