  1. i heard around 100 thousand

  2. 1 million applied.

    100,000 got volunteer positions.

Thanks to all the volunteers...what an amazing job. I know China is spoiled for choice because it has so many people but still a great job.

  3. While there I heard the figure 1 million. I have no idea, except they were everywhere.

I talked to some and they were mostly young, teens or slightly older, very nice and polite.

Their only pay was a shirt and admission to the event they were working, a free subway pass, nothing else.

They could not attend any events for free, and could only watch the event they were working if they were assigned inside the venue.

It is amazing that that many (whatever the exact number) would give up that much time and that  many days.

  4. Around 120 million if you included the army guys..

  5. 1 million applied, 10 000 were taken. I'd expect to see 100 people in USA apply for this kind of job.

  6. I'm certain Bob Costas said there was actually a million, maybe that was wrong though.

Also the police/military are not volunteers, they get paid good money.

  7. moar like how many died to make it a sucess amirite?
