  1. 8 weeks at least, 10 or 12 is even better for the cats social skills.

  2. Ugh, spay your d**n cat and stop being so irresponsible!.. 11 days is WAY too young!.. You need to wait at the very least 6-8 weeks. And also, make sure your friend can actually take proper care of this kitten.. can she afford the vet bills for all the kittens shots? And can she afford to do the responsible thing and get the cat neutered/spayed? Just because kittens are givin away for free, does not mean that they are "free"... people that actually care about animals, and actually take good care of their animals will spend nearly 300-500 dollars within the first 6 months of the kittens life in vet bills.

  3. You should wait until the kittens are 8 weeks old before you place them in homes.  At around 5 weeks old you can start putting out some canned food for the kittens and small litterboxes for them to start using.

It's good to keep them with their mom until they are 8 weeks old as it helps with their socialization and ensures that they learn all they can from their mom.

  4. Wait until they're 8 weeks old.

  5. A kitten should stay with its mother for an absolute minimum of eight weeks and preferably 12 weeks. Although they may be "weaned" prior to eight weeks, they will still have the occasional need to nurse. Kittens taken from their mom cats before this time often develop nursing behavior on themselves, other cats, humans, or fabric, and these habits will often continue throughout adulthood.

They also need this time to learn proper cat behavior from their mother cat, including use of the litter box, socializing with humans and other cats.

The time they spend with their mother and siblings is very important. Think about how you would have turned out if you were taken away from your parents too soon, and didn’t have the proper role model to learn from. Often kittens that are separated from their mother too soon, will be very shy, and have social problems with other animals as well as humans.

  6. I'd say 8 - 10 weeks
