How many weeks should Dean Soloman get?

It was more or less the same thing that Barry Hall did, except he hit Cameron Ling with an elbow, not a fist. So he should get around 7 weeks? What do you think?

  1. Yes you can look at it like that, although what Barry did was behind play.

You could also look at it as not being much different to what Lancey did to that Crows player a few weeks back.

I know that Soloman has got a dreadful reputation that proceeds him, however punishment in football all boils down to how much the public, the media and afl executives love the player!

  2. jesues christ. Its was nothin, the ranga had  it comin 2 him any way

Dean Soloman should get a reparmand

  3. I must of been putting my question on at the same time as you were, lol.

mate i reckon 10 easy, the damage done is also taken into account, he has been reported 12 times, 6 already at freo,  the comparison with Hall/Staker is just that, nothing more. Hall whacked staker but not a bone was broken, Ling has depressed fracture, far worse, requiring facial surgery, throw the book at the mongrel.

  4. woah this question has now been asked 4 times.. anyways..

i think he should get a long suspension although i believe he should also not be given a suspension longer or equal to Barry's Hall's suspension of 7 weeks, although i hate freo so i would usually wish a long suspension on there players.

The whole system is messed up so i think he will get 7 weeks.

  5. Dean deserves to cop it big and i think 7-8 weeks would be fair.

Ling looks to be out for up to 6 weeks.

Can't compare to Barry's wayward fist as this is an elbow, Hall's was behind play, Solomons was near the action.

Doesn't deserve to play for a while and to think these blokes are mates...they go surfing and do tonnes of stuff.

  6. Yeah I agree with that, 7-10 weeks. You're right, it was basically the same as what Hall did, and it was obviously deliberate, I mean, he lined poor Ling up from 25m away. That would be an appropriate amount of time.

  7. 6 weeks plus a few extra for being a **** footballer and a dirty thug

  8. **I think he should get about six weeks but the fact he came out after the game and apologised to Cameron Ling and the Geelong Football Club will probably work in his favour and reduce the penalty because it makes him look remorseful.**

  9. 5-6
