I am 16.5 weeks with #2, I have cloths a size bigger. although they fit around my waist, they look like c**p on me, and hang off my body everywhere else. I am still wearing most of my shirts, but only a few super low rise pants fit. When did you make the transition to Maternity cloths... oh and I do have a bellaband... that thing is awesome!

  1. With my second child I was about 7 weeks when I couldnt zip and button up my pants anymore. With the second child you seem to show quicker. I thought I was having twins because I showed so quick, but only one baby came out. LOL. She was only 7 lbs 2 ounces and 19 inches, so she was on the smaller size at that. Its perfectly normal to show already. Good luck and congratz!!

  2. I was about 16 weeks...Im only 18 4 days right now:) I still squeeze into regular pants but it in uncomfy. And I only gained 6 pounds....I don't look all that pregnant but my cloths are very tight

  3. About 16 weeks. I found that they fitted and looked so much better than wearing larger size normal clothes. It makes you feel muchbetter about yourself too as your body has changed so much in such a shoirt period of time. Indulge in some good quality maternity gear and you will feel 500%.

    Goodluck and congrats

  4. um the bella band only goes so far. i was SUPER tiny before pregnancy, so i assumed id be a cute small pregnant lady. i was completely off the mark, im huge. im abnormally huge. people ask me daily if im having twins or triplets, and if im due tommorow. seriously. everywhere i go. i went to my 18 week ultrasound in my size 2 jeans, buttoned up all the way. i thought it would be smooth sailing, got me a couple bella bands, and then about 27 weeks....this massive belly came out of nowhere and i cant even squeeze my swollen ankles into the waistband of my old jeans. as this is your second you might have more luck with not getting huge, but for me, the bella band was a joke. i switched to full time maternity at 27 weeks. i wore my regular jeans with the band one day, went to get dressed the next and boom, absoloutly nothing fit- bras, pants, shirts. NOTHING. so good luck!

  5. 18weeks

  6. I was about 20-22 weeks when i got maternity clothes. I also tried the size bigger thing and it did look crapy on me. well i only bought maternity pants the regular shirts still fit me. But I would buy some maternity clothes now so that way you are comfortable and can get more use out of them

  7. Geez, I'm short-waisted and popped right out!  I was wearing maternity pants by 8 weeks - no joke.  This time, I'm 10 weeks and surviving with larger pants and the wonderful belly bands.  Not sure how much longer I'll make it though. lol

  8. I waited until I just could not manage to squeeze into my regular clothes before I gave into maternity clothes with my first. But now I am only 8 weeks with #2 and I am miserable in regular clothes and I would rather buy a few maternity items than to just buy bigger clothes. With the first I was like 24 weeks or more but this time it looks like it will be closer to the first trimester.

  9. It is upto individual preferrences.

  10. Lucky you, I'm 13.5 weeks with #2 and have been in maternity clothes for a little more than a week. I was using a band with my clothes but they got to restricting and uncomfortable. I grew out of my tops before my pants and jeans though.

  11. That is actually based on the individual mom-to-be. Her weight before pregnancy, her body  type, what number of pregnancy this is.

Some maternity clothes do look like they were made for older women & don't look very fashionable. Some don't even flatter your ever changing body.

Look around for clothes that make you feel good about your pregnancy and are also comfortable for you & your baby.

mwww.MotherHood.com has a great selection but maybe a little pricey.

    www.MimiMaternity.com has reasonable prices.

go on line & compare or you may want to go to Walmart or Target too.

Sometimes all you need is a pair or two of casual pants, jeans & buy shirts that don't have to be necessarily maternity style.

Also, depends if you work in an office, you might want to get a wardrobe that you can mix & match, it saves you on a lot of money.

If you like you can ask some one you know who has pregnancy clothes if you can borrow them, that why you don't have to spend a lot of money for clothes that you're only going to wear for a little while, but I don't know how you feel about borrowing some else's clothes.

  12. I started wearing maternity clothes around my 3rd month, only b/c it was uncomfortable to wear regular clothing from all the bloating I had, I am now 5 1/2 months but I can still wear some of my shirts from before I was pregnant, but my b***s also grew very fast, and this is my first baby

  13. I'm 20 weeks and I'm wearing maternity clothes so I'm comfortable.

  14. I started around weeks 18-20.  I am tall and slim, so my regular clothes either stopped working or looked like c**p by about 15 weeks.  I finally gave in by 18 weeks or so.  It was different with each pregnancy.

  15. 6  to 9 weeks... LOL.. I'm expecting twins! LOL

  16. i was close to 7 months before i was in only maternity pants, quite a few pairs of my regular pants fit until then as long as they were unbuttoned and unzipped.  i still don't wear maternity shirts and i'm 35 weeks. i just started buying size medium shirts and ones that have a cute cut or are wide around the belly. so far so good.

  17. I never bought maternity clothes- thats not saying I didnt put on weight cos I put on 11.5kgs.

All my pants were low cut, so they sat underneath my belly. I loved those yoga pants, super comfy.

I bought basic t-shirts and singlets in a Large to strech around my belly.

I found things that were more stretchy and clingy looked better than floaty or baggy things- I felt like I was wearing a tent.

I just bought cheap basic things, mixed and matched them around. You can get away with wearing "normal" clothes lol
