How many weeks were you when your doctor started seeing if you were dialated or effaced?

Im 33 weeks and just curious when I should expect this.

  1. normally 36 weeks, but everyone is different! just remember that just because you may be dilated does not mean labor right away. i was 2-3 centimeters dilated at 36 weeks with my first child and did not deliver until 38 weeks! Good Luck!!


  2. around 36 weeks,  I had started having contraction.  Found out I had a uti and it as causing contractions.

  3. I was 36 weeks both times, and they check weekly. However, some doctors might not use the same procedure - checking every other week from 36 weeks on, or maybe not checking at all until 38 weeks...it could all vary. At your next appointment, ask! It is the only way you will know for sure :-)

  4. 36-37 wks unless you show signs of preterm labor.  I got checked at 32 wks because I was having more than 4 contractions in an hour but usually they don't start until you hit that last month before your duedate.
