How many weeks would they have gloated?

How many weeks would it have been before the Spanish and other non-US fans stopped talking trash if Spain had won last night?

Personally I think it would have been intense for two weeks and then afterwards constantly we'd have had some stupid t**t at least each week saying "ha ha Spain won gold in 08".

Spain played a great game. They have great players. they easily could have won so I have respect for them.

However if they had won, I get the sneaking feeling this and any other message board would have gotten very ugly with the gloating.

A victory by Spain would have been huge news, and it definitely would have been talked about a lot over the next week or two.  And it would have been something that would have come back up even years from now at the next World Championships and the next Olympics.

I'm just glad it didn't come to that.  Team USA did what they needed to do, and the Gold is back where it belongs.
