How many wireless devices can be connected to a wireless router?

I am searching for a wireless router, but want to know how many wireless devices(laptops) can be connected simultaneously to the router for the internate sharing. Please sugest which router should I purchase for sharing between 3 laptops wirlessly.

Well it all depends on the router the linksys one that i have can have as many as i choose because in the settings it has a place where you can say how many you can have connected and could easily handle 3 laptops without question

If you are looking for a wireless solution for a large amount of computers then go with a Cisco Wireless Solution.  It manages multiple Access Points throughout the building which is easily manageable and secure.  If you are looking for something small then go with Linksys.  It is the next step to Cisco.  The amount of devices depends on the router and the bandwidth.  Sure you can connect 50 devices to a wireless router but if they are all on at the same time then it is going to get slower as each device connects.  If you have to connect multiple try to keep 20 devices per router.  It will help with bandwidth issues and connection problems.

Most routers are capable of handling up to 20 wireless connections. a function of the wireless band used prevents any more. It should also be able to handle other wired machines. For your use any router should work.

As many has you want. You router basically sends wireless internet signals for devices that have Wi-Fi or netwoek adapters, such as a PSP, Wii, and of course a laptop.

So, you can connect any amount of wireless devices to the router, but it may slow down your internet if you guys are all using the internet at the same time.

ok first off all of them are wrong a wireless router can only hold 6 this is because it only gives out 6 ip address and if you have more there will be a ip conflict but the best one to buy is a Linksys
