whether Sarah Palin could serve as VP because of her five children?

If you were not offended, why not? Has this ever been questioned with respect to a male?

  1. If you don't understand a mothers' role in childhood development, then I can't fully explain it to you in this forum. There is something different between a mommy who works 40 hours per week and a mommy who works 40 hours plus is on standby every day and night for 4 years....who also has 2 young children, one who needs special care, and two teen girls who need mentoring and monitoring. That is not to say others can't help out, but if Israel and Palestine are up in arms and about to attack one another and have you on the line....but your newborn son with down syndrome needs to go to the doctor or needs to be fed, you have made an oath to the country...and to your son....who do you let down??? She would have to place her son in someone else's care....which is fine for short bursts....but as all children who were raised by nannies and daycare can tell you, it makes for a less than normal and happy childhood.

  2. No, because it's a legitimate question.

The kids require her full attention.

So we want to know what her game plan is.

Is her husband going to help?

Is she going to hire help?

Cause the job of the V.P. is not as cushy as it seems.

Now, if Palin cannot stand the heat of these questions, then get out of the kitchen.

    Stop whining!

I learnt that from the Republicans who said the same thing to Hillary.

In fact, Palin said the exact same thing about Hillary, telling Hillary to stop whining and allow the media to examine her closer.

    This is call Poetic Justice.

  3. I was offended, and the only reason is that Joe Biden raised his kids alone after his wife was killed, and no one ever questioned his ability to serve.  No one ever questions a man's ability to be a working father if he has children, but a working mother is looked down upon.  So it is a double standard, which does offend me.

  4. Who asked that?  I am a democrat and I don't care how many children she has- just shows she can think while people are all screaming around her.

How many of you are offended by people calling Obama the anti-christ or saying he is a radical muslim or (insert lie)?

  5. I'm a mom and I'm also a daughter from a large family.  My mother worked outside the home AND I'm a feminist.  I wasn't offended for a number of reasons:

Most of Palin's kids are school-age. Whether people agree with me or not, it is my opinion that even with working moms, most of the responsibility of child-rearing falls on the mother and the young ones need mom home most of the time, not off for weeks at a time at work, which is what happens with a VP.

Two of Palin's kids really need her right now, one is pregnant and facing terrible scrutiny and the other is a special needs baby.

Those are just two of the reasons it's not offensive to ask those questions of a mother with 5 children, in my opinion.

  6. If she had not put them front and center in all of her campaigns...there would be little to question. The As it is she has not chosen to talk about any solutions for the dire straits our economy is in OR solutions to our problems in the international realm besides saying "we are doing God's work in Iraq." ---- !

Her lack of experience and discussion of it and how she has behaved during her less than 2 years as a Governor is quite appropriate. If her ambition has caused harm to her growing family...it shows a lack of perspective and judgement.

Her family obviously needed her and her husband. Both of her oldest children have experienced "troubles" lately...These stories will be fully vetted in the media as was her daughters pregnancy and driving violations. Her son was arrested with 3 other boys - the judge can possibly keep his record private since he joined the military but the other boys have probably talked.

Her children were "being farmed out to family and friends" as she has said. Her official behavior as Governor includes firing the guy in charge of the troopers that refused to fire her brother-in law and arrested her son. All of this c**p does not sound like a person we would want to be President. Especially the vindictive behavior to underlings as both a village mayor and Governor of Alaska...

BTW...When she was running for Governor she had stated that her husband would be the at-home parent. He decided to go back to work shortly after she was elected. She just said she hadn't asked him before saying that. Good communication skills.

  7. What is offensive to me (as a female Independent) is that up until last Friday, the Republicans and the conservative evangelicals who support them have a very long, very public record of preaching the message that mothers should not have careers.  They have made it clear that women who leave their children in daycare to go off to work are not fit mothers.  They've made it clear that women who think they can "have it all", meaning babies AND jobs that pay the same as men are evil feminists who will lead this country straight to h**l in a hand-basket.  They have written volumes of books on the subject and dominated the air waves of conservative radio and television programs preaching their views on this for my entire lifetime.  And yet, suddenly, with no explanation, I awoke on Saturday morning to find that the Republicans are now the greatest champions of working mothers all across the nation.

I have absolutely no problem with a woman being a mother and Vice President, or President. I just can't figure out why the conservatives have all come down with such a bad case of dementia.  And if Sarah Palin has single-handedly managed to get them to throw out this long entrenched value of theirs, then my hat is off to her for that, alone.

  8. Which Dems?  Please provide a link to the alledged questions "Dems" asked.

I for one don't question the fact that she has 5 children or her ability to raise them and be VP. I question the fact that she will take women's rights back about 30 years (abortion rights).  That's reason I won't vote for McCain or her.

  9. i wasnt insluted, because i dont care.  i WAS insluleted that John McCain thinks that women are stupid enough to vote for him simply because he chose a women for vp.   but i guess SOME women are that stupid.

  10. h**l no I was not offended, because I only have 2 children and work a full-time job, one that does NOT have bearing on the entire country, and I'M overwhelmed!  She is NOT superwoman, not any more so than any other working mother, and I think it's a perfectly viable question!!!

  11. You're right this has never been directed towards a male before running for an office.  Don't think that this is just the "dems" asking this question either.  There are soccer mom's out there asking this very same question.  I don't think that it is fare that people are asking this question.  I'm a working single mom and there were times when I had to work 80 hr weeks with a lot of opinions from people about how I needed to be home more with my kid.  To be honest with you I wanted to throw these people out of a window.  I am not a supporter of Sarah.  I don't agree how Sarah and her husband have dealt with the public about her daughter Bristol.  That's not your question though.  If Sarah makes it into the White House how her children are looked over will have nothing to do with me.

  12. Now that the question has been put to the test, we will see that all the feminazi's rhetoric has just been toting their party's line.

  13. Here we go again-Republican Propaganda!!!!!

The Media is going after her NOT the Democrats.

Try turning the channel from"FOX NEWS" and maybe you would have a clue what is really go on!!

Democrat's don't give a hoot how many kids she wants to pump out. We just want to know can she do more than MOOSE HUNT-LOL LOL

  14. Yes I was offended.

By the way, only THREE children will be left in her household once the oldest goes to Iraq and Bristol gets married.

  15. i just answered a question before yous that said

    about the same thing

Should not Sarah P. be a mother and not VP?

I think in to days working families lots of women have to work one or

two jobs..and so do the men just to keep afloat..

why are politicians different?  Yes Dems are rather simple minded sometimes..double standard as when did Hilary Clinton ever settle down

    with Chelsea?

  16. Its not like Obama asked. You cant blame him for what some of the party ask

  17. all women should be offended.

  18. I didn't know Dr. Laura was a Democrat:
