How many yards will Adrian Peterson have this year?

Ok this guy already has the record for yards in a game which is SICK lol.....If he didn't get hurt last year and got more carries i think he would have broke Eric Dickersons rookie and single season record.

How many yards will he have? Its his 2nd year these guys do get better

I am going to go with 1600 yards.

AP still shares a backfield with Chester Taylor. CT will steal a few carries. You need allot of carries to get to 2,000 yards. Even with an estimate of 1600, AP will have to average 5 yards a carry and 20 carries a game. Those are tough to get even as the only RB Option.

To get to 2000 yards one would have to either average over 6 yards a carry (6.25) or 5 yards a carry and get 25 attempts a game.

AP got dinged up last year and while at Oklahoma he missed a bunch of time due to injury. It is hard to believe that he will not miss at least a game or 2 this season. It's just his history.

With defenses now keying on AP and forcing the Vikings to throw more I just don't see him breaking any records.

He will get at least 1,450-1,650 with the good OL Minnesota has.

I dont think he'll pass 1200. The kid has talent and potential, but without a passing game to speak of on the Vikings team, other teams will put 8 in the box against him and shut him down. The whole season might even start to run like that San Fran. game last season where he was stopped with ease using that exact same tactic.

If he were on a better team, maybe he could approach the 2K mark, but like this....it's doubtful.

I would say maybe 1500 to 1600 all purpose yards.

I say 1458 because now every team in the league has knows his name and are going to stop him anyway they can. My only concern is that now the defense is now going to go out onto the field and try to knock out Peterson. If he gets injured then he probably will reach about 1000 yards depending on the injury (if he gets one) You can't say that in your second year you get better well, not significantly better. I think he will get a little better. Look at some players in their second years who have not gotten better.

I'll say 1400 EAZY, even though Defenses will stock 8 in the box b/c they don't think Tavaras can beat them with his arm.  He'll still muscle out yardage, the boy is a BEAST.
