How many years can a company go back to do a backround check ?

As many years as they want. My husband recently completed the CORE program (training to be a correctional officer) and they go back a minimum of 15 years on their background checks. And don't even think about lying on a background check, because they have investigators that can and will find out everything in your past, including things that you may have forgotten about during the last 15 years!
